Magnetic Fridge Notepad

Here is the results of a SWAP I joined. The SWAP was to create an altered magnetic refrigerator notepad. It just so happened that I got several magnetic calendars from the dentist office the other day and decided to use them as the base for my notepads. It worked out really well, at least I think! Besides, on the backside of the notepad is a 2010 calendar and a list of all the holidays. Anyways, I just covered the front of the magnetic calendars with pattern paper, made a small scallop topper for the notepad and stamped on the paper to give it a decorative finish. VOILA! It was quick and easy! I sure hope the recipients think they turned out nice.

Paper Piecing...

Hi everyone...I haven't been creating much lately but thought I'd share with you some of my paper piecings that I've created in the past. Paper piecing is a ton of work BUT...for me, it's very
relaxing. Click on each image and you'll be able to notice that each individual section has been created from a piece of paper. Drawn and cut to the exact shape that I needed to complete the final image.

Perpetual Calendar

Before the holidays I was working on a couple of calendar layouts for a SWAP that I was in. I was responsible for creating April, July and December. So far I've shared the April and July layouts and many of you have been patiently, or NOT, waiting for me to post my December creation...

Well, here it is...

Birthday Wishes

Here are a couple of
Birthday cards that I created to go inside of a paint can gift set. I absolutely love how they turned out and will definitely be using this idea again! They were so quick and easy!

Thank you...for your friendship!

I know you always hear me talking about a group that I'm in, Scrappin' In Toledo, well...in December we had our annual Christmas Crop. Boy was it a blast! We always have tons of activities, prizes, and an abundance of yummy food! Not to mention that most of us are able to get together all in one place to hang out, chit chat and have a great time! Anyways, this year one of our activities was a Shoebox SWAP. Everyone attending the crop created a card, provided all the materials and put them in a shoebox for each person at the crop to duplicate one of their creations. Then, at the crop all of the shoeboxes were put in one area and during the crop we all had the opportunity to sit down and make each one of the cards. When we were all finished we had about 14-16 cards that were all made and ready to be sent to someone special throughout the year! What a GREAT idea...well, in theory anyways. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and not everyone had the time to complete all the cards...BUT...it was still FUN!

Here's a look at the card I made and prepared the supplies for.

Make 'n Take

I'm in a scrapbooking/stamping group and designed this Make 'n Take for us to do. It was a big HIT...I'm not sure what everyone liked more...the homemade candy or the project itself! LOL

Anyways, it was really fun being able to show everyone the crayon resist technique that I learned a while ago at a stamp convention I went to. You should try it...it's super easy and creates a stunning effect!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Frame It!

I am having so much fun being able to participate in blog challenges again! This is a card I made for the Penny Black Challenge. Don't you just love Penny Black? I know I sure do...and am completely addicted! Seems like I just can't get enough of these cute little hedgehog stamps, especially now that I have Copics and my coloring isn't so horrible.

Thanks for looking! Hope to see you again soon!

House Mouse Challenge #22

I am so excited to be joining in on all the fun challenge blogs again! I sure do hope that life will stop getting in the way and prohibiting me from my fun! For this challenge we needed to use paper piercing...something that I never even think about adding to my creations! Thanks for the fun House Mouse Challenge!

Polished Stone Technique

Before Christmas I was trying to teach a friend how to do the polished stone technique on ceramic tile coasters. Instead of using coasters, I used glossy paper to show her the technique. Well, I decided to use my examples as backgrounds and then came up with this card design. I liked it so much I decided to make a few changes and create a variety of cards. Here are three of the designs I came up with.

Blog Awards...

Oh my goodness! I've been away for so long and come back to so many wonderful blog awards! Thank you so much Carolyn, Leslie, and Ikki! It is such an honor to know that others visit my blog and are inspired by my creativity! I am so sorry that I've been away for so long...Unfortunately, the chaos of life seems to have gotten the best of me over these last couple of months but hopefully I can get back on track and start blogging regularly again! I sure do miss being creative, blogging, and chatting with my online friends!

This is the award from Carolyn!

"The rules are to give it to five others, who shall give it to five others.. You shall link the one you got it from, and also the ones you give it to:) And let them know. And there is more... You have to write down five things you are addicted to...."

1. I'm addicted to spending time with my family and friends!

2. I'm addicted to stamps!

3. I'm addicted to the internet and finding new projects to create!

4. I'm addicted to shopping!

5. I'm addicted to JUNK food!

I would like to pass this award on to: Becky, Dawn, Mel, Sharon, and Julie

This is the lovely award from Leslie!

This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

For this award, I'd like to pass it on to: Anne, Camilla, Elisabeth, Malin, Yvonne, Suzanne, Jorunn, and Miijja

This award is from my SBS sister, Ikki, and is to be passed on to five other bloggers that are inspiring or encouraging.

I'd like to share this award with: Tessa, Belinda, Aija, Lillimor, and Lene

Thanks for all the inspiration, encouragement and compliments! I really appreciate you all!

Christmas Eve Party Invitations

This year, Mack and I decided to have a get together with a few of our friends on Christmas Eve to celebrate the holiday season! I actually can't wait! I love having friends over and what better time than the holidays? Of course, we'll still have our traditional Christmas Day get together complete with appetizers, a huge meal and TONS of desserts! A full day of food and friends what could be better than that? Unfortunately, neither of us really have family here so we try to make the best of the holidays by inviting our friends over to celebrate with us...I wouldn't have it any other way...UNLESS our FAMILIES could join the festivities too!

Anyways, here's the invitations I made for our Christmas Eve Celebration. Simple but I think they turned out nice! I'll be putting them in the mail tomorrow so some of you should be watching your mailboxes!

Secret Santa Craft Show

Well, the Secret Santa Craft Sale has come and gone! I'd say it was fairly successful considering it was my first Craft Sale ever! I only made $29.50 BUT...I didn't take high dollar items nor did I take a ton of things to sell. I figured since it was a Secret Santa Shop for kids to buy Christmas presents for their loved ones I'd try to keep things fun and cheap!

Besides, it was just a lot of fun hanging out with my friends for a few hours!

Here are a few photos of the items I made to sell...The Snowman Soup was priced at $2.00 each. I sold 10 out of 12. Lip balm holders were $1.00 each. Only sold 3 of 13. Ceramic Tile Coasters/Trivets were $1.00...didn't sell a single one of those! I was shocked...I thought for sure those would sell like hotcakes! Reindeer Food was seventy-five cents. Cheap, but only sold 3 packages. Square Teacher Post-It note holders were seventy-five cents, I sold out of those. BUT...I only made four. The rectangular Post-It note holders didn't sell at all. Oh well, it was a learning experience! I have tons of ideas for next year's sale and I can't wait!

Thanks for looking and for being so patient with me during my "Idle Blog Days"! I will definitely try to do much better in the new year!

Handstamped Ceramic Tiles

Sorry that I've not been posting much at all on my blog lately but with the holidays and the end of the year right around the corner it seems that there's just not enough time in the day to get things on my "to do" list accomplished!

I am the owner of an online scrapbooking group and we get together once a month for a 10 hour crop. Our December Crop is one of the best crops of the year and is always so much fun! BUT...there's a ton of stuff to get done before the crop...which happens to be this coming Saturday! So, I've been planning all our fun activities, wrapping prizes, organizing our day and shopping for last minute necessities.

On top of planning the crop, I've also been trying to make things for a children's Secret Santa Shop that I signed up to participate in on December 8th. Let's just say that I haven't gotten as much finished as I had originally planned! However, I thought I'd share with all of you the ceramic tile coasters that I made and will be selling for $1.00. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out and hope they will sell because I have no idea what I will do with them if they don't.

What do you think?

Snowman Soup

Hi everyone...if I even have any fans left out here in blog world! I'm so sorry for not being around much lately but I've just had a ton of stuff on my mind and really haven't been in the creative spirit. Does anyone else ever lose their creative mood? I just HATE when this happens!

Anyways, I just finished making some Snowman Soup for a Secret Santa craft sale I signed up to participate in. Hopefully these things will sell because I sure in the heck do NOT want to drag them back home after the sale!

I know you've seen this snowman stamp before but I can't help it! It's my favorite and I thought it would be perfect for my snowman soup! Oh, and you can't tell by the photo but the snowmen are all individually cut out and popped up from the tag.

Hope you're staying warm! If not, make some snowman soup...I'm sure it will help do the trick!

I'm BACK!

I know, it's been a LOOONG time since I've posted. I was doing so well too! Trying to keep up with the busy world of blogging is a tough job!

Anyways, I worked really hard tonight to finish a few card sets that I'm donating to the auction at my daughter's school. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! The auction is Saturday, November 8th. Now, I've known about this auction for a whole year...but I waited until just now to finish up the projects I started quite some time ago. I had the actual cards made already. All I needed to do was make the boxes to put them in. PROCRASTINATION! UGH...

Oh well, the main thing is that I finished them and they're on time! Whew! I'm tired!

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #23

This challenge was to add sparkle or bling. I think I accomplished the sparkle requirement! This card is simple yet elegant and looks much better in real life! Thanks for looking!
